Snow tracks
Town Centre Park, Coquitlam, BC.
All the snow has long since melted but over the last week, temperatures have dropped and living on a mountain above the snow line means we've been getting flurries in the morning. And to think I was contemplating putting the summer tires back on!

The camera I use
I got a PM from someone on NASIOC asking what camera I used. I have a Nikon D50 that I bought last summer that I'm very happy with. Most of the pictures are taken with that camera. I was able to buy it across the border for quite a reasonable price. The nice thing is that only the standard GST/PST applies when you bring it back into Canada--there is no additional duty on camera equipment bought in the US.
That being said, a few of the pictures that you'll see here (like this one from Cypress Mountain) were taken by my old 3.2 mp point-and-shoot, a Toshiba PDR-M71.
Unless there is a demand for it, I won't post the shutter and exposure values for each of the shots like I've seen on other photoblogs. Most the exif data is available on my Flickr page where these photos are hosted, if anyone is interested.

Subaru Six Stars
Subaru is a Japanese word that means unite, as well as a term identifying a cluster of six stars, which the Greeks called Pleiades - part of the Taurus constellation. According to Greek mythology, Atlas' daughters turned into this group of stars.
In 1953, five Japanese companies merged to form Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. The new corporation adopted the Subaru cluster of stars as the official logo for it's line of automobiles.

Welcome to 7-52 Daily Photo
I bought a Nikon D50 last summer after the memory card on my old Toshiba PDR-M71 point- and-shoot started crapping out. It came with a Quantaray 28-90mm kit lens. It was basically free because the store gave me the option of the buying the body-only for the same price as the body with the kit lens. I recently bought myself a Nikkor 50mm 1.8 and am looking forward to taking more pictures with that lens.
